SBEA, NSBA Members Hear from Hon. Steven Preston

Last week, the National Small Business Association held its 2015 Small Business Congress in Phoenix, Arizona where small-business leaders from across the country discussed a wide array of topics and heard from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) who discussed the importance of small business to the U.S. economy.

A special highlight of the conference was the opening address from the Honorable Steven Preston, CEO of Livingston International, who spoke about the importance of exporting to the U.S. economy and discussed the various tools available to small firms looking to export and import. A former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Preston shared his unique perspective on why exporting is so critical for smaller firms.

In his address, he emphasized the important role U.S. small businesses play globally and underscored the need for ongoing trade agreements such as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
